Ok, so I just watched the trailer and now I really can't wait to see it. I have HBO On Demand and sometimes they will put new movies on there early, so I have been checking everyday to see if they would add it. They may add it next monday or they just want us all to watch it on the 3rd. It definitely is must see tv for me. Hopefully, people will watch and maybe it will restore some faith in him for those who have lost it.
Thanks for the heads up, Mrs. T. I read your post, and walked straight into the other room to set the DVR.
I guess I should watch the trailer now . . .
Many thanks to Eve for highlighting it! I'm setting my DVR too. :o)
Hey, you're welcome... I'm just doing what I would want everyone else to do...and after watching the trailer, my DVR was set as well !!! Can't wait to discuss it!!!!
UPDATE:
Edward Norton is going to be on The View Wednesday to talk about the documentary and he is going to go into what the whole documentary is all about. I hope everyone enjoys!
By the way just in case you did not know:
The View airs....
(Weekdays at 11:00 am eastern and 10:00 am Pacific/Central on ABC).
If anything new comes up I'll fill everyone in.
The DVR is ready to go. I can't wait!
So, I watched it last night and I thought it was pretty interesting. My only complaint was the way it ended. I thought they should have shown a little bit of the inauguration, but other than that it was good.
Also, I was surprised that they spent so much time on the primary election.
I DVR'd it and haven't had a chance to watch it yet.
Nylon,
I thought that was the whole point of the documentary, to show the behind the scenes that took place 'BEFORE he won the nomination'.
Hopefully I'll watch it tomorrow :)
It was awsome and I was so happy to see how they have evolved and blossomed into the family that they are today. The Obamas are truly beautiful (both inside and out).
It was extraordinary. I'm sure they had to do a bit of editing - as it was a few things slipped out, like what "Republican asshole" will be nominated.
I loved the scene with Michelle and the girls, and it was interesting to see Valerie Jarrett in the background a few times, being supportive and steady.
The debate practice was very interesting as well.
Leah D,
I had no clue what the whole point of the documentary was about, I just thought it was about the behind the scenes of the campaign. But, if what you say is true then they did a great job. Actually, either way it was good and I have watched it again ;-)
Bevi,
I liked that scene as well. I also liked the scene of Mrs. O campaigning and she kept cutting the people off saying, "uh, uh, uh, you're voting for Barack, right?" Of course, the scene of him crying really touched me. But, there was one scene that stood out to me. It was the scene of him after he had delivered the speech about race and the Rev. Wright situation. It looked like he could hardly speak after that, like it had really worn him down. Very interesting stuff.
I really enjoyed this presentation. I was pleasantly surprised to see a couple that I know at the event in Philadelphia.

Reader Eve has brought this to our attention and we wanted to pass it along! HBO will air a feature on the 2008 election on Tuesday, November 3 at 9PM. More info here:
