A Casual Take on the Yellow Cardigan

DSC_3425Photo used with kind permission from photographer Brian Bjolin

On a warm Fall weekend in central Ohio, Mrs. O again wore J. Crew's Crystal-button colorblock cardigan in Silver Honey. A nod to the cardigan's versatility, Mrs. O wears it here as part of a more dressed down ensemble paired with a white tee and azure blue jeans. A trio of yellow and blue beaded pins pulls the look together and adds a personal Mrs. O touch.

We were a fan of this cardigan when Mrs. O wore it on The Tonight Show last Monday and love it again here. Dressed up or down, yellow is a fantastic color on her. And at the risk of reading too much into the ensemble, we can't help but feel the choice of color reflects Mrs. O's mood: bright and optimistic.

I, too, love this cardigan. When I first saw it yesterday, I wasn't sure about the jeans, but maybe it was because I didn't notice the pins and how the blue one coordinated with the pants. Love your blog by the way--so glad to have discovered it.

Yeah, I love it too but I was wondering why she repeated the same outfit twice in a week. I guess they are all just tired and looking forward to the end of the campaign. Anyhow, She's been amazing!
Good job on your blog.

Thanks for the kind words about the blog! I have to think the repeat is due to Mrs. O's impossible travel schedule. She's literally been jetting around the country, making appearances in multiple states per day. But even when she repeats, she seems to always change or add a different twist on the look.

I too love this blog. I come to it often to see if it has been updated. Today is election day. It's still early, the polls on the east coast are just starting to open. I'm in California, so I have to wait a little longer to go cast my vote for Obama. I hope today's results mean that this blog has at least 4 more years of Mrs. O fashion to chronicle!

J.crew very cleverly had a link up to all the pieces Mrs. O wore on Letterman.

what is extremely important is seeing clothes being worn more than once time....this is such a waste when we only see one ensemble...here't to common sense and just pure fun in dressing with style and color.

I agree that yellow is a good color on her--certainly better than the very cheap dress in brown/black/white stripes that she wore in Miami. When you go to Miami and the weather is warm, one should not wear black or brown--too hot and dull. (Lived in FL most of my life--so I know!)That was the perfect opportunity for her to show her willingness to wear color, but she messed up fashion-wise once again. As for the yellow sweater--it doesn't fit her. The most gorgeous outfit in the world will look like a rag if it does not fit. Look at the first picture--the seam of the sleeve is on the top of her shoulder and the sleeves look too tight. Stacy London, where are you when you are needed most?
