A Gulf Coast Getaway

Images by Mandel Ngan / Getty Images

The Os are away at the Gulf Coast, vacationing in Panama City Beach, Florida overnight. It's been quite the busy weekend thus far, from sightseeing to ensembles!

The first lady arrived in a teal blue, tie front Jason Wu dress. To play miniature golf, she changed into a chrome blue Banana Republic tank (available here), cropped black pants and Maison Martin Margiela toe loop sandals. To watch porpoises, Mrs. O chose a black tank and loose fitting floral shorts. And for an ice cream stop, the first lady donned a blue Narciso Rodriguez shirt dress with open toe flats.

Does anyone know the name/style of the Maison Martin Margiela sandals Mrs. O is wearing on the golf outing? I believe they may be from last year - in any event, would love to search for them!

Sasha got a hole in one on the mini golf course. It was cute how happy she was after it happened.

Loving the pics! Didn't she wear the blue NR shirtdress in Hawaii? We've seen those cute sandals recently, too (was it in Spain?) Wonder if anyone has info on them.

How adorable is Sasha - love her little topknot. She looks so cool and comfortable. And she is rocking the yellow bright bold color, just like her momma does!

Yes, I believe she wore these cute open-toe flats she's wearing with the NR dress in Ronda, Spain and changed into tennies when they went exploring somewhere. They are adorable!

Love the turquiose dress as well as the black long tank and capris. The tank shows Mrs. Obama's lovely toned arms... (I'm so jealous!! lol)
Hope they enjoy their family time together.

Not only am I enjoying these colourful ensembles, but more so the comfort and joy on the President's face when he is with "his girls". Sasha has such poise and seems to be oblivious of all this public attention! Mrs.O is certainly doing a good job at keeping her family healthy, happy and intact. Here's hoping that they enjoy the rest of their vacation together.

Anne, I believe they were just called the "Leather Toe Loop" sandals. I can't find them available online now, but they were previously available here:

Simply elegant. Very classy .

I know for certain the blue tank top with navy straps in the golfing picture is from Banana Republic. I convinced my mother to buy the pink version about a month ago. At first she really didn't want to buy it, but I just showed her this pic of Mrs.O in it and she's like "Oh wow!", LOL. I don't see it listed on Banana Republic's website but I'm pretty sure I'm right.

I love these photos so heart warming and beautiful.

I think Ari is correct about the blue tank being Banana Republic. It was on their site in the Sale section. http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=26499&vid=1&pid=762430

Mrs. O's arms are magnificent in the black tank! So envious!

Ari and Joanne, thank so much for this detail! I believe this is the first time Mrs. O has worn Banana Republic.

Merci! My searching tells me the MM Leather Toe Loops are from 2009, and that I have missed this boat. But thank you so much for the information!

I think she wore the Jason Wu dress with a cardigan before. Lovely dress, feminine but with the bows it looks quite girly. Mrs O has an amazing figure and always wears dresses well. Her toned arms have motivated me to get down the gym in the evenings and I have noticed the difference already.

How cute does Sasha look in her yellow and green outfit ?

Mrs. O. looks great in every outfit shown here! Just one quibble....those weird black sandals.
Sasha is such a cutie in all of her darling outfits. Love the white dress with roses on it...so pretty, feminine and great for hot weather!

I thnk the First Family looks lovely. Does Jason Wu have a line of clothing that the average person can purchase? ALSO, I would LOVE to know where Mrs. O primarily shops for her childrens clothing.

The 1st photo: This dress is absolutely gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous on Mrs. Obama!

The 2nd & 3rd photo: Comfortable, chic, and cute...sweet family fun!

The 4th photo: Love the dress and the cute, cute shoes!

God Bless America and God Bless the Obamas'!

All these pictures are fantastic and Mrs. O looks effortlessly chic as always.

Its wonderful to see how she repeats her outfits, but uses different accessories or a sweater (Or not) to make it something fresh and new. Espeially love the Jason Wu dress - is it not the same dress she wore to the Marine baracks over a year ago? Or is it a different colour?

Monday, August 16, 2010 at 10:29 AM | Unregistered CommenterLJ

While I am generally not a fan of Jason Wu, this dress is awesome and looks good on Michelle. She looked great all weekend. I prefer her in solids. Wonderful trip. Sasha is adorable.

Mrs. O looks her usual classy self. I got to say my two personal favs are the Jason Wu dress and the black tank with the capris.

What I love about Mrs. O is that she dresses like a real person. I think that is what is so appealing about her. Love all the looks here:)

Love, love, love the looks on the First Lady!!! And as always, Sasha is a joy! Now, if we could only do something about our handsome, sauve, debonair president!!!, and dress him a little bit better.

Totally Awesome - Outfits are all so perfect for the gulf getaway. And what about Sasha? Such a splendid acting young lady.

Love the teal dress and the blue and navy top! BUT...you need to be accurate in your explantions of the activities.. The Obamas are not on a "vacation" for "a few days". They spent about 24 hours in Florida with many changes in clothing and venue in that short time. I really hope this was not just a photo-op for public consumption--to make us believe they stayed longer. They visited Florida to promote travel there and had photo ops at various locations to pomote them. Their vacation will be in Martha's Vinyard in later this month. Let's be truthful about all this...otherwise there is suspicion. The trip was for a good purpose I hope.

Obama fans will love this!

LOVED it all!!

Yes, Red, that pic does say it all.

obamadiary.wordpress.com has video of them on the trip as well as Sasha making her hole in one. It was so cute because Mr. and Mrs. O were more excited than Sasha :-)

I love ALL of these outfits! I just went to Banana Republic's website and unfortunately that blue top is no longer available online, otherwise it would have been mine! I also love the turquoise sheath from the first picture, but I love even more how she piled on the bangles...she has such a beautiful, natural sense of style!

Mrs. O looks great. Is Sasha growing up before our very eyes or what? God bless America!

These are wonderful pics of our First Family enjoying the Gulf Coast. Once again Miss Sasha sold the show, she's such a sweetie. I'm wondering about those D'orsay sandals that our Michelle is wearing, too. They sure are sharp and quite versatile.
This seemed like a good weekend for them. I hope they enjoyed themselves. From the accounts that I've read, the people in the Gulf sure appreciated what this visit did for their morale and hopefully it will translate into more tourism.

The President is in Seattle today and being welcomed by a beautiful day, 84 degrees; sunshine and summertime in Seattle...it can't be beat.
I loved the Florida clothes and Charlene is right. This was a photo stop to encourage Florida vacations.

Oh, my! I just saw the photos of the President helping Michelle putt and their fingers touching on the railing of the boat! Is it disrespectful to say that the First couple is just too sexy? I mean, what other First Couple has ever generated this kind of heat? I love this family!

I am in LOVE with the Jason Wu dress. Just down right stunning. I realize I am most likely younger then some of the visiters here (I'm 18) but I was so happy when I found this site. Mrs. O I think is the perfect example of beauty and brains. She's shown people you CAN be both smart and stunning.

Can't wait to see more here. :)

The teal/turqouise dress is fabulous!

Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 7:32 PM | Registered CommenterStrong Foru

I think the front of the Jason Wu bodice looks confused and wadded up, sort of as if a bunch of bow-bats hit Mrs. Obama's midriff and stuck there. The blue dress in the last picture is much better, but I think it would be even better if it were a few inches longer.

Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 5:22 PM | Unregistered CommenterWondermint

Every single one of these outfits hits a home run. Gorgeous colours, inventive cuts and patterns... The teal of that Jason Wu dress is a particular favourite of mine on Mrs O and I'm always happy to see her in her little bows. She does love them. The top she is wearing for golf is incredibly chic. The black top and patterned shorts reminds me that she still wears the kind of things she wore before Mr Obama was elected (remember the $35 dollar Gap top on the campaign trail?), and that last dress is so sweet and fresh without looking too cutesy and inappropriate. Perfection. And - how much do I love seeing the Obamas out doing normal holiday "stuff" with their girls? HOW much?? I love it.
