Have a Little Feith

Image by Hiroko Masuike / Getty Images

First Lady Mrs. O met with students today to tour an herb garden at Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture in Pocantico Hills, New York. The group was also joined by spouses of other political figures in New York City this week for the UN summit.

For the garden affair, the first lady wore a wisteria print dress by Tracy Feith, paired with silver pointed toe flats. The dress was first seen in January 2009 for the inauguration, and has made a lovely reprise here.

Dear Leslie,
Yes, I think that's exactly the point of what a First Lady should do. The clothes are a metaphor for the administration and at this point in time she needs the metaphor to be about connecting with the voters on their level. As you say, it is great stagecraft. Each outfit she wears I'm sure is carefully planned for maximum impact. It's so much about image and impression.
BTW has anyone else read about the new book on Obama? By Bob Woodward and it really makes him seem wonderful. So much of what he's done hasn't been covered in the press, or has been given very minimal coverage.

I remember seeing this dress at the church service the day after the inauguration and thought it looked dowdy. Particularly after the high fashion outfits of the inaugration and the balls. It may be that I was not used to seeing Mrs. O in prints. That said, she looks lovely in the dress this time around. I never tire of seeing her on this site.

Very lovely dress for the event. I think it looks beautiful. Not too dressy, not too casual. Just right.
This is a feminine dress that looks very attractive. I can relate to this dress- it is very comforting.

Kona Bay Fabrics designed the fabric for this dress and we were very honored she chose to wear this dress made by Tracy Feith,

She first wore it at one of the Inauguration events and then again at this First Lady's Conference at the UN.
