Charming New Orleans

Mrs. O was in New Orleans today to support the NFL's Play 60 clinic, which encourages children to move at least 60 minutes per day, and aligns with her own "Let's Move" initiative. Earlier in the day, the first lady also made an appearance at Brock Elementary School in Slidell, Louisianna to launch a new phase of "Let's Move," focused on nutrition.

The back to back events required a quick change of outfits for Mrs. O. To speak at Brock Elementary School, the first lady wore an embellished, chartreuse dress by Moschino, first seen at a White House Cinco de Mayo event in 2009, here. For the NFL event, which included a game of flag football, the first lady dressed to suit, changing into a Run:Revitalize tech top by lululemon athletica (thanks Claire!) and athletic pants.

Love the dress, love the football clothes, love the message, and REALLY love the way this First Lady moves! There has never been a First Lady (or world leader's spouse that I know of) who really gets into the action and engages the way Michelle does. She models what she talks about and that's the best example anyone can set. I, too, am star struck -- more and more each day!

Just splendidly dressed, Mrs. O!! Oddly enough, it appears this dress in chartreuse is by Moschino and is on sale at Gilt today! A bit too much for the splurge for me, but just for anyone out there who'd like to find it online and on sale!!

Fun outfits for fun events. I love the color of the dress for the "barely Fall" look.

Keep it going, Mrs. O

The athletic top is Lululemon Athletica - just got one myself! (It comes in fun colors like coral, teal and citron too!)

What an incredible woman. She walks the talk. How can you not admire her amazing toned and atheletic shape. She puts most of us to shame. I want to look like that when Iam at her age. What an inspiration to all of us.

I love this Moschino dress even more the second time around. Mrs. O. always looks so
happy and comfortable around kids, be it reading, talking or playing with them. This first lady has such a genuine soul.

She looks so refreshed and lovely in this chartreuse dress which is a very good color for her! I really enjoy how she connects with other children...she's inspirational!

I really love her hair syle and make up. I didn't know that Michelle doesn't use hair colur. I noticed her gray hair on some of her pics and i thought could be light, but on this pic ( 1st one) it is so obvious.

@Nic

Umm she is a woman over 40, and we women get gray hair, just like men! Thus, her gray hairs are not abnormal.

Anyway it looks like she is growing her hair back out.

I gotta say its very refreshing to come to this site. I was just reading the Politico article on Mrs. O and Laura Bush collaborating on a 9/11 event and the comment section was very dismaying to read. So much vicious and hateful comments made about our First Lady! I dont even get it. Thanks for this Mrs. O blog, at least her positive mark is being archived somewhere.

Love these photos. They capture her warmth - from her smiling dark eyes to the way she embraces children.

Does anyone know what sneakers she's wearing? That's a nice casual outfit for walking the dog or running errands!! I love that so much of her style translates for all women!!

she just knocks it out of the park every day. What a breath of fresh air she is. There is another great shot of her on facebook right now from the White House site where she is running with the football looking like such an athlete! Go Michelle!

@ Flora, the comment sections on politco, yahoo, huffington post, etc. are cesspools of caustic hate speech. It is so very sad. I thank Mrs. T for blocking ignorance and allowing us to share love and life through Mrs. O.

This dress together with the Rachel Roy dress that she wore whilst being interviewed in the White House are my favourite Mrs Obama dresses.

I think I remember this same dress in black with purple, blue, etc. stripes. Both are lovely and good for tall ladies. The weather must be lovely in Washington D.C.

Just finished watching the event in Pennsylvania on C SPAN. Windy, cool day but sunny, MO wears the grey pantsuit seen before, can't remember when. Very appropriate for the event. No jewelry, etc. Hope this keeps up and she dresses appropriately (no cocktail dresses) for upcoming MOH ceremonies at the White House.

@nonpasserat,

Even at a somber ocassion such as the commemoration of 9/11 you cannot help yourself with your digs at the First Lady on what in your mind is "appropriate" dress. Why don't you give it a rest, or better yet, refrain from coming on this site to comment on someone whom you think very rarely dresses "appropriately" to suit your tastes (or lack thereof). For everyone else, let's continue to keep the 9/11 heroes and their families in our thoughts and pray that the sacrifices they made on that day nine years ago will remind us today, in the midst of all these fake controversies, of what this country is all about. May they rest in peace.

Love, love, love this Moschino dress...so feminine and pretty! Just wish Mrs. O. hadn't gotten her hair cut quite so short.

mszonian, I hear you!

Mrs O looks great today in both outfits. I like the dress more this time around. I love seeing her in more relaxed clothes. it's like seeing a private bit of Mrs O's life somehow.
