A Vibrant Floral

Photos by Manuel Balce Ceneta / AP Images

First Lady Mrs. O was joined by Kelly Rippa on the South Lawn of the White House today to encourage young runners participating in LIVE with Regis and Kelly's Run Across America. For the event, Mrs. O paired a vibrant, floral top with a yellow belt and white trousers. Fun!

Update: The first lady's blouse is Peter Som, from the designer's Spring 2010 collection.

Love her top but I didn't like her asking the kids to pray for
9/11 families and kids.

Not that I don't like praying and thinking good thoughts especially about 9/11 victims but as an obvious nod to Osama being killed (even though she didn't directly mention it) & given that some kids just don't pray I thought it was a bit heavy handed for what was supposed to be a Let's Move event.

Sorry but I just can't let this one go without getting my 2 cents worth....Mica's "some kids just don't pray"!?! I take this to mean that maybe some of these kids are of various religions, so Michelle shouldn't be trying to force her Christian religion on them.
For god's sake, just because one is not a Christian or Jewish, etc. doesn't mean they don't pray to some higher power. Praying does not have to be to the God that's in the Bible. It can be to any higher power or spirit that anybody chooses to pray to. Or it can be simply "Close your eyes and think good thoughts for somebody who needs it".

@ babs

I am smart enough to realize that just because someone isn't Christian or Jewish that that doesn't mean they don't pray.

I just simply meant that some people don't pray no matter the religion and that perhaps "Everyone think positive thoughts" would have been better, and in fact not even mentioning it at all would have been the best thing of all.

Those kids look young and if I as parent haven't wanted to discuss Osama with my child yet because I couldn't find the words, I wouldn't be happy that the First Lady, as awesome as she is, decided to mention it indirectly at an event that had nothing to do with Osama or 9/11. I would then have to have that conversation with my child before I had planned to.

(Obviously at times when news is extremely current we mention it even if the event we are at has nothing to do with it, but in this case since kids were involved, I wouldn't have made that decision if I were her).

That said, as I said before, I love that top.

Does anyone know the designer of the blouse, and whether it is still available somewhere? It's beautiful - fabric and shape.

Mica - this conversation may be best for the discussion forum. Just FYI for next time. Thanks!

Love the top! Anyone know who makes it?

I also loved Kate Middleton's shoes that she wore on Saturday (while leaving for her weekend away). Does anyone know the designer of those wedges?

@ Amy, it was reported that the blue dress that she wore costs $89 and was by Zara. As for the shoes, they were by LK Bennet and cost $120. I read it on Huufington Post, and now both of them are in high demand.

Onto FLOTUS fashion. One thing I can say for our MIchelle is she sure is fearless wearing white pants while hugging and running with 100 school children. Wow, fun and fashionable. I like how that yellow polka dot belt just accentuates the colors in the top. One pic I saw made the flowers look lilac and purple, while another site the flowers looked grey. No matter, it's darling.
Monday was a busy day for our Michelle and it seems just as busy for our very own Mrs. T. I think she deserves a round of applause for keeping up with all the changes. Looks like FLOTUS kept her busy!
Good job!
