Easter Sunday Best

The First Family attended Easter service at St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C. this morning. On the fashion front, Mrs. O re-wore a dress that might look familiar to some. The Thakoon pixelated floral jacquard dress was paired with a coordinating coat for the famous "fashion face-off" with Carla Bruni-Sarkozy in April 2009, here. For today's outing, the First Lady updated the look with a cropped black cardigan and pink Schreiner pin. This is the second year in a row that Mrs. O has worn a Thakoon dress for Easter Sunday.

I love the whole package. The entire family looks so happy. Natasha looks so grown up in that adorable dress. The fabric reminds me of a dress (a Thakoon I believe it was) that Mrs. O wore some time ago in another colour. She looks like a mini Michelle.
Happy Easter everyone!!!

Great to see this dress again, especially with the cropped cardigan and the pin.

Please start posting fashion info for the girls too. There are many folks who would love to know who/what Malia and Natasha are wearing as well as mom.

Aw!! its is such a pleasure to go to my favourite page. What a lovely family, simple but well put together in a nice package. I find true inspiration from Michele. I am so happy I went to church this morning.

What a beautiful family.

Thakoon is one of my favorite designers for Mrs. O.

Wishing a Happy Easter and Happy Passover to all of our Christian and Jewish friends.

Lovely photo of a family who just looks happy to have each other.
Is that a purse in the first lady's hand ?

Wow. Mrs. O is wearing almost the exact same dress as Joan in the Mad Men season 5 premiere.

Wow, Sasha had a growth spurt! She's up to her dad's shoulders! Where's the little girl he lifted up and carried on election night? :) They all look wonderful.

The girls look adorable, however this is NOT Mrs. O's best look. The sweater is too small and tight for her and that dress doesn't flatter her figure. Too much bunging in the hip/tummy area and the length isn't right for her. I usually LOVE her pins but this one leaves me flat.
Hope the Obama's had a happy Easter despite Mrs. O's fashion miss. : )

The First Family looks beautiful walking to church together hand in hand. Love the outfit Mrs. O is wearing--even better this time! Really like the dress Sasha is wearing as well--beautiful print.

The Obamas look so lovely; such a beautiful family.

The entire family looks lovely. I like the way Mrs. Obama updated her dress by using a little black cardigan, instead of the full length coat. I've been going through my closet, experimenting with "updates" instead of buying new (although always a few new ;) ). The girls should just enjoy their clothes without us scrabbling to find out who or what they are wearing--just enjoy being beautiful young girls!!

I typically refrain from commenting on her girls, but they are changing into lovely young women. And Mrs. O continues to be the most high-profile closet re-mixer in the land.

I love this dress on Mrs. O. The color is great for her and I actually prefer the cardigan to the more sophisticated coat. I think it fits her quite nicely and she is taking long strides in this shot. (I do feel sorry that their family can't enjoy a simple walk to church together without the media coverage.)

@Auntie Mom, Don't you think that the fabric of Sasha's dress is very similar to (if not the same) as a Thakoon that Michelle wore during the campaign in 2008 and which she wore some time in November 2011. Check out the Thakoon reference above and look at the second picture.
She looks quite adorable and grown up.

Stunning! ALL of them. The First Lady....just Wow! Beautiful. Malia looks like she is almost as tall as the President! Four more years! Four more years!

@ trinisamba I see what you mean. I truly like them both and realllly like the print of the dress Sasha is wearing. It seems to me a little darker in color and is simply beautiful!
