Rendezvous in DVF

First Lady Michelle Obama was in New York City today to attend the United Nations General Assembly, where President Obama gave an address. On the style front, Mrs. O chose the Rendezvous dress from DVF Fall 2012, paired with a blue double wool crepe coat from Narciso Rodriguez, previously seen here. A vintage pink Schreiner pin completed the look.

I love the dress on her, but I'm not digging the layered necklaces. To me, it clutters the neckline. I would've picked one statement necklace or a simple necklace with bolder earrings. That said, Mrs. Obama has been a major style influence for me, and this website is a joy. Thank you for all you do, Mrs. T.

Nice dress. I actually expected her to wear something like this for her speech at the DNC. Boy was I wrong! That dress is still blowing me away.

My very first thought when I saw all these seated ladies with hands clasped in their laps was -- where are their purses? Is that a shallow reaction? :( I am always aware of where my bag is, and it is generally in my lap when I'm seated at a speech. Though maybe they weren't allowed to carry handbags into the auditorium for security reasons.

When I saw this on gettyimages I thought she was wearing the Roksanda dress, they are very similar. The jewel tones are a good choice for this time of the season. I think all of the ladies look polished & poised.

Very nice, indeed!

I never liked this dress and I don't like it with flats BUT this Lady was on FIRE in Appleton, Wis this afternoon. Lord, we need 4 more years of Michelle Obama at her husband's side to take this country forward! Oh yeah, and 4 more years of fashion.

The first lady is so inspiring. I love her intelligence, strength and ability to be who she is, even while in the limelight of the country. I love the fact that she has not conformed or downplayed her style to society's expectation. Thank first lady for being who you are and not who others think you should be!!!
