Christmas in Washington

The First Family joined together to sing during the finale of TNT's "Christmas in Washington" special on December 15 in Washington, DC.
For the festive occasion, the First Lady turned to winter white, wearing a "white viscose techno crepe tailored jacket with overlapped side panels and silver embroidery" from the J. Mendel 2013 Resort collection, paired with a J. Mendel ivory silk satin faced chiffon pleated skirt. Many will recognize the ensemble from Mrs. O's July 2012 trip to London, here.

The photo is a 'keeper'; lots of charisma, good cheer, and the First Family is truly First! Lovely outfits, all. I didn't like the capped sleeves at first when Mrs. O first wore it, but every part else was overwhelming, and now, that I've seen it, I really enjoy how attractively it is worn. It's truly uniquely fit for the royalty of each occasion I've seen. I hope that the outfits our First Girls are wearing are indicative of their own good tastes developing with a little encouragement from First Mama, because they are superbly worn and enhance the beauty of these young women. (And, of course, it goes without saying that their Papa is handsome, as well!) The elves are quite something special, and it is quite something to say for the formidable First Folks to spark such enthusiastic expression in them.
