Gold and Glimmer

First Lady Mrs. O covers the December 2013 / January 2014 issue of Ladies' Home Journal. Can you say gorgeous?!

Update: The Huffington Post reports that Mrs. O wears a sleeveless, gold jacquard dress by Lela Rose.

Mrs. O Wears Naeem Khan

The First Lady wore a custom black beaded tulle halter gown by designer Naeem Kahn for a black-tie dinner honoring Medal of Honor recipients at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History this week. If only we could see more!

Presidential Medal of Freedom Ceremony

On Wednesday, the President and First Lady hosted the Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony at the White House. Later in the day, they attended a wreath laying ceremony in honor of President John F. Kennedy at the Kennedy gravesite at Arlington National Cemetery.

On the style front: The First Lady wore a Jason Wu custom red organza tweed flounce dress and coordinating coat from the designer's Pre-Fall 2013 collection. The ensemble was previously seen at the State of the Union address in February 2013, here.

Honoring Veterans

To honor Veterans Day, the First Lady attended a ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery. For the ceremony, Mrs. O wore a black wool Burberry coat with double-breasted closure paired with knee-high black boots.

On Thursday, the First Lady gave the keynote address to attendees of the Disney Veterans Institute jobs forum in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. For the event, Mrs. O wore a black short sleeve dress with pink detailing at the neckline. This dress looks familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Does anyone recall where we've seen it before?

Update: Thanks to reader Parker, who found the dress: Narciso Rodriguez from 2009 and 2010, here.

Careers in Film

The First Lady hosted a Careers in Film Symposium at the White House on Friday for high school students interested in careers in the film industry. Mrs. O was joined by writer-director Ryan Cooger, film producer and executive Harvey Weinstein, Academy Award winning actress Whoopi Goldberg, actress Blake Lively and actress Naomie Harris. For the event, Mrs. O wore a smart black and whtie ensemble, pairing a collarless white shirt paired with pinstripe pants. (The pants may be from this Alexander McQueen pant suit.)
