One Gorgeous Necklace

We've been a bit obsessed with the beyond breathtaking mystery necklace Mrs. O paired with her Jason Wu dress on the cover of Glamour. We are so delighted to learn the design is FENTON by Dana Lorenz. The necklace is constructed of brass, gunmetal, crystal and hand dyed silk and is part of the FENTON Fall Winter 2009 collection. It can be purchased at Ikram in Chicago or at danalorenz.com.

For those keeping tabs, this is not the first time the first lady has worn a statement piece from the designer. Back in July, Mrs. O dressed up a simple white twinset with a statement FENTON necklace while visiting Moscow, seen here

Check out our first lady on the cover of the upcoming issue of Glamour magazine. Breathtaking!

Glamour is honoring First Lady Mrs. O with a Special Recognition Award for her commitment to mentoring young women in the magazine's Women of the Year issue. Read more, including a full Q&A with Mrs. O, here.

Now, who made that fabulous dress and necklace?! Update: We may not find out. We hope this isn't the case. From the AP:

"On the Glamour cover she's in her own drop-waist, red cocktail dress with a modified ballskirt and a chunky, bow-inspired necklace. The outfit was from her own closet, and no designer will be credited in the magazine."

The designers responsible for these creations - both the necklace and dress - should get credit. They are gorgeous!

Update: Mrs. O wears a Jason Wu dress and a FENTON by Dana Lorenz necklace.

President Mr. O and First Lady Mrs. O met with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his wife Svetlana outside of Moscow yesterday. Mrs. O wore a white twin set paired with black trousers. The understated ensemble was punctuated by a statement necklace -- a Fenton by Dana Lorenz necklace, made of crystal, silver and glass with vintage coin detail. The necklace is available at Ikram in Chicago.
