The president and first lady were out on Martha's Vineyard last evening, dining at Sweet Life Cafe in Oak Bluffs. For the outing, Mrs. O wore a black and white Narciso Rodriguez dress, paired with a cropped black cardigan, black clutch and statement earrings. The dress is the same that the first lady wore for a Fourth of July celebration in 2009, seen here. Fabulous!

A Gulf Coast Getaway

The Os are away at the Gulf Coast, vacationing in Panama City Beach, Florida overnight. It's been quite the busy weekend thus far, from sightseeing to ensembles!

The first lady arrived in a teal blue, tie front Jason Wu dress. To play miniature golf, she changed into a chrome blue Banana Republic tank (available here), cropped black pants and Maison Martin Margiela toe loop sandals. To watch porpoises, Mrs. O chose a black tank and loose fitting floral shorts. And for an ice cream stop, the first lady donned a blue Narciso Rodriguez shirt dress with open toe flats.

Two Weeks in Review

Hi Friends! Thank you for all of the wonderful comments, and for being so understanding of my absence from the blog during my wedding and honeymoon. Many of you have been kindly posting links in the comments to Mrs. O's various appearances, but I thought we could all use a quick catch up of the first lady's recent events in addition. Mrs. O debuted a few fabulous summer skirts below, which I'll work to identify this week.

Hope everyone (in the U.S.) had a great July 4th holiday. While the wedding and honeymoon were quite magical, it's good to be back!

July 3: The President and First Lady Mrs. O returned from Camp David, where they spent part of the July 4th weekend. Mrs. O paired a fabulous green print skirt, featuring oversize stud trim, with a white tank, metallic flats and gold accessories. Her lime green tote added a final punch of color.

Update: Thanks to the always reliable chrystelle for informing us that the skirt is Comme des Garcons. A similar version can be seen here.

July 4: On July 4th, Mrs. O wore a fittingly patriotic ensemble, pairing a red, white and blue wrap halter top with white cropped pants and ballet flats.

Update: The first lady's top is Suno.

July 6: Mrs. O met with Mrs. Netanyahu, wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in the Yellow Oval Room of the White House. I believe the dress is the same Narciso Rodriguez tulip patterned frock that Mrs. O wore on the campaign trail in 2008, also seen on the cover of the Mandi Norwood book "Michelle Style" here.

July 7: The first lady appeared at an event at the Treasury building, where Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner spoke at the economy and 2008 financial crisis. For the event, Mrs. O paired a white top and cropped cardigan with a fabulous metallic floral skirt. A thin silver belt at the waist and magenta heels completed the look.

Coral and Pearl

Long weekend hardly complete, the first lady was off again to Reno, Nevada today for an appearance at the 2010 Women's Summit, where she spoke to a crowd of 1600 businesswomen and dignitaries.

For the appearance, Mrs. O wore a coral cotton and silk crepe dress by Narciso Rodriguez, first seen when the Os travelled to Europe last summer, seen here. A double strand of pearls completed the summer look.

Mrs. O Takes Michigan

Image by Rebecca Cook / Reuters

The first lady was in Detroit, Michigan yesterday for a whirlwind visit that included a motivational speech at Wayne State University, as well as a more intimate mentoring session with students.

At Wayne State, Mrs. O's message was one of hope:

"What I know is there is plenty of hope here. Detroit's next chapter, America's next chapter, is waiting to be written by you. Young people, I am asking you to embrace that opportunity, to be our future."

And on the style front, the first lady was channeling that same energy, dressed in a optimistic pink skirt and top paired with coordinating pale pink flats.

Update: The first lady wore a peony silk cotton skirt and top by Narciso Rodriguez.

For a youth leadership and mentoring event also held at Wayne State yesterday, Mrs. O wore a printed top (possibly a dress?). Does anyone recognize it?
