Mrs. O debuted a new Fall dress as she deplaned in Pittsburgh. We love the mix of pattern and texture at play, as well as the subtle bohemian details in the the tiered skirt and gathered arms.

Also, we've noticed that Mrs. O has a penchant for metallic flats...and they seem to go with everything!

Update: Mrs. O's dress is DVF! (Thank you InsideDVF for linking to us.)

The more photos I see of this the more I like it. It' hard to really find of pic of this outfit where the wind is not blowing it out of shape. But it's very bohemian chic. Like it all around. The shape, the color, the sparkles. Very cute. Someone on another board said this style of dress is very hot on the west coast right now.

I have been going crazy these past few days with all of Mrs O's clothes. I love this dress too. And that's it, I am getting a pair of silver flats. Period. Even though I am short!

I said that I was taking a sabbatical from this site but I just could not stay away. This is so lovely. Mrs. O reminds me of my favorite box of chocolates. You just never know what she is going to wow us with next. And I know that she must be exhausted, and POTUS too.

Love it! This is a great look -- wonderful flow and movement to the dress. Free spirited pattern in an elegant style.Love the shoes, too. I bought a pair of silver flats and I wear them all the time. So far she is perfect.

There are stories up in various places about the Obamas' gift to the spouses. I am glad to see that attention is being paid to, yes, protocol. These occasions are chances to make a statement as well as show generosity. In this case, it's honey from the WH beehive, a honey server (beautiful) and a lovely tea service in colors and pattern meant to evoke Pittsburgh. Subtle, charming and very personal. What gifts should be.

The Os were criticized (rightly) for lame ceremonial gifting earlier this year. Ipods and DVDs, really! But this is perfect.

This dress screams Thakoon to me. The layering of the light fabric over an intricate print is so him. I love this whole outfit and I need those silver flats in my life.

GRECIAN GODDESS...PERSIAN DELIGHT

Mrs.O is looking all kinds of cute in this dress. I love ethnic looks like these with a modern twist. The style is so simple yet the colour is so divine. You almost want to believe that the dress makes music when it rustles in the wind. Seemingly understated yet making a statement... I'll take one to go!

I like the colors in the dress. I also like the color of the shoes.

Rocky, how poetic! I love that image of her dress making music as it rustles in the wind. The color evokes water for me, too, or I think of stars sparkling in a mysterious, dusky sky. The color and weight of the fabric is magical. What a relaxed and fun look. I appreciate someone above naming it bohemian chic. Since I'm not well versed in fashion, I like learning the correct categories here. I totally love this look.

Ooh, I love this color. Really, really nice look.

Duh! I just discovered by looking at photos on Democratic Underground that this dress has two layers -- an underdress that contains all the bright colors, and a sheer overlay. No wonder there's that quality of mystery. Now I see that above, too. I didn't look closely enough the first time.

This is a winner. Stunning on her. Picture perfect. Young, fun, comfortable and stylish. V-necks are very flattering on her.

Diane VF must be beaming wherever she is. I love this dress. Totally my style but I probably can't afford it. Will have to wait till it's on sale.

I love that she's been pulling out DVF for recent events and I hope she continues to. DVF is one of my favorite clothing lines. Always modern and pretty yet sophisticated enough for work or in this case for a First Lady doing official business.

I love this dress. She looks so young and fun.

The gorgeous DVF Black and white print skirt the FLOTUS wore last week is pictured in Oct. Vogue paired with a simple black blouse. That (or a white or brown blous without the greenish cardi) would have made the outfit she wore the other day a hit....and of course by now let's hope she burned that tire tread belt. I still don't understand why she wore that belt - the skirt has a natural copper colored "belt"/band at the waistline. I doubt we will see that again.

DVF did some really neat clothes for this fall season. I only wish they were more affordable :( I'm sure that the skirt and this incredible blue-green dress will be available somewhere as "knock offs" for all of us everyday women!

Off to search for silver flats!

This is a very pretty colour and I love it combined with the silver flats. I can't say I like the dress, but I like Mrs O looking happy in it.

Good to see nonpasserat back making snipey comments about the O's getting things "wrong" or "right" again. Have they offered you a job yet nonpasserat? Seeing as you know everything.

That looks like one very comfortable dress. The colors are beautiful. I'm glad Michelle wore something sheer. I also love those flats. The shoes are a great color. Cute!
