What a jam-packed day for the first lady! This morning, First Lady Mrs. O spoke at the the 101st annual NAACP convention in Kansas City, Missouri, focusing on her Let's Move! initiative. For the event, Mrs. O wore a black and white polka dot ensemble -- the top, featuring sheer sleeves, was an inverse print of the coordinating skirt. Both pieces are by Jason Wu.

Update: Mrs. O accessorized her first ensemble of the day with a pair of stunning Mary Esses earrings. Hand-set in 18k yellow gold, the earrings feature dangling, pear-shaped, deep green quartz stones, accented with bezel-set diamonds and baguettes of pale green beryl. A close-up of the earrings is featured below.

Later in the day, Mrs. O ventured south to Panama City Beach, Florida, where she met business and tourism leaders to discuss how the Gulf oil spill has impacted the region. For this appearance, Mrs. O changed into a black blue and white floral top and pants. The drawstring top is from the Thakoon Pre-Spring 2010 collection.

A beautiful First Lady with a beautiful heart! Cool and comfy, she is the nucleus and true extension of White House leadership! Many blessings to them and much respect for them!

I love the white outfit and the earrings are gorgeous but what about the bracelet? Is it Persona?

Hi Chrystelle, The honeymoon took place in part in the Caribbean but will continue later as my husband had to get back to work. I am in the USA though for the next few months.
Missed you guys and the banter that the site offers.
Enjoy the fashion. I do!!

Those earrings are fabulous! Our Michelle also wore Mary Esses earrings last September when she wore that floral DVF dress. It was to the award ceremony for Army Sgt. Jared Monti that was held at The White House. Mary Esses jewelry reminds me of some pieces by Mariquita Masterson, quite lovely!

Hey Trinisamba, welcome to the U.S. and congrats on your recent nuptials! Girl, you gotta get some shopping in while you're here. Check out The Seacaucus as well as Filene's Basement, just to name a few! We're glad you're here!

Several bloggers on the Montgomery Advertiser site had naegative comments about Mrs. O. I had to see if anyone thinks as I This is the place to be to hear up lifting comments about our First Lady. I like her style very much. She changes from simply beautiful as a mother to extremely elegant. And she is always fully dressed with that sensational smile.

Even if the top had oil splotches, I would only think that "they are on her just as they are on the people of the gulf coast. I am so compassionate that I feel splotches on me as well. Everyone should have a t-shirt with splotches on it, which says. "I feel your pain." The t-shirts should be sold and proceeds should go to our coastal friends.

No one has commented on the earrings - can't see them in the "action" photo but the closeup is amazing! Love semi-precious colorful stones in drops, cabuchons, and large cut sizes!

There's an article in the new (August) INSTYLE about Jason Wu.
