Good Day Sunshine

Photo by Leslie E. Kossoff-Pool/Getty Images

First lady Mrs. O attended an event about the Affordable Care Act at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC yesterday. For the event, Mrs. O wore a summery white and yellow print dress. Gold bangle bracelets completed the look. The first lady seems to have a penchant for abstract patterns as of late!

Update: Rachel Roy confirmed on Twitter that Mrs. O was wearing her Cadmium Draped Floral Dress yesterday. Rachel Roy has certainly become one of Mrs. O's go-tos in recent months!

I so love this dress the shoes the hair the face. Everything is a total knock-out. I wonder what the First Lady will where to the Broadway music series at the White House next week I can't wait.

Great title Mrs T(B). She really looks sunshin-y. Although i would kill for a full-length pic.

I've found that her green floral skirt is by Comme des Garcons. i've posted the link in the thread.

I can see this dress hanging in my closet. According to Chrystelle I would love see a full length view of it. The accessories are spot on!

Very pretty.

I used to think pink tones were the best for our Michelle......wrong! Look at her in yellow. Wow! She's glowing in this number. I sure would like to pick the brains of her make-up person. He or she hits it out the park 100% of the time. I know you have to have a good canvas from which to work from (and this person clearly does) but the product line(s) that's being used is superb. Well, onto the dress, FANTASTIC!

Mrs O just glows in these bright, sunny, summer dresses - she's such an inspiration. The whole look radiates a positive warmth - she engages with people with such genuine enthusiasm. This outfit is a showcase of her energy and style. I'm with chrystelle though - can we PLEASE have a full length photo? I'd love to see the shoes!

If people are going to comment on what Michelle O is going to wear they should know that wear is not spelled where, Ashley.

Mrs. O looks flawless in this dress! The color and the cut are perfect for her. I would love to see a full-length photo. What's even more interesting is the custom wig she's been wearing the last couple of months is nearly imperceptible. It looks nearly like her hair! From a stylist perspective, it's good that she's giving her hair a break, because the heat and curling irons several times a day could damage her hair.

@Ashely Can I ask where do you get your information? I feel like I'm behind on what's going on with the Mrs. O. I just learned they are going to Maine this weekend.

She has become a major style icon right in front of our eyes. If you followed her style from the start of the campaign to now, you will see how her style has evolved to this iconic style master. Its incredible what has unfolded in front of us since these folks entered our lives. The style she has will not only be great for a season but like Jackie O and Princess Diana, we will be looking back and loving these looks for generations to come. i have also noticed that she has given the brooches and belts a needed break, and has embraced this free flowing custom style that says Mrs. o is in the building. Love it! Love her! Love my President!

Simply smashing !!!

@ Charlene - I agree, her make up is always flawless.

I agree with the comment that warm colors are amazing on Mrs. O! Better than the cooler colors (like fuchsia and silver jewelry). My question is, those look like bangles, not cuffs. Can you find out more about the jewelry? I love her jewelry.

I really like the hints of yellow on a white background in this dress! Mrs. Obama looks like rays of sunshine!

Classy summer dress with just a little edge in the pattern - very nice and the color is great on her.
The cut seems not too clingy, a little breathier for summer. Too bad there is no pic around where you can see the bracelets. They look beautiful.

Such a beauty and what a great summer look. I am happy that she and the kids (and POTUS?) get to see Arcadia National Park, a gem and so beautiful. Bridget, I agree with your observations about Mrs. O.

Anagram I get myy information from either politco or the White House website.

Fresh and Sophisticated - that's our First Lady.

@Ashley ... I always appreciate your comments and don't recall typos in your messages

@Elle in Texas .... relax, I"m sure you'll find irregularities in lots of messages - how do you feel about the pretty yellow dress - since we are commenting on Mrs.O's fashion?

@ Mrs. T .... I like the picture with her seated - there is a certain attitude that shines through - she is fierce

The dress is by Rachel Roy! Would also love to see a full length shot!

I love this dress

@ river rush, thanks for keeping it positive.

@River Rush Thank you for your kind words. I hate to look uninformed so whenever I post information about anything I always go to reliable sources.

Elle in Texas I apologize for my grammatical error I normally proof read my comments before posting. Allow me to correct my mistake. "I wonder what the First Lady will wear to the Broadway music series at the White House next week."

Once again I love Mrs. Obama's dress that color is so refreshing. I love it, I only wish I could see her shoes. Everyone have a great weekend.

@ Jestina, if you or anyone wants to see a close up of FLOTUS' flawless makeup, check out:
http://www.gettimages.com/detail/102903892 WOW! It's almost a diagram of what goes where in make up application. This pic is REALLY close, but oh so beautiful. You see contouring, shading, highlighting and definition. Kevyn Aucion would've had a field day with our Michelle had he lived. To me, he was make up artist extaordinaire!

Friday, July 16, 2010 at 11:37 PM | Registered CommenterCharlene in Detroit

Thank you Ashley and Chrystelle. I know I'm probably going to get killed for this comment but I am growing weary of the up the skirt shot. I think that when the first lady or any woman is seated the photos should be cropped so that we aren't looking up their skirt. If you don't know what I mean scroll down a picture that has been enlarged on say Huffington Post, etc. I'm just saying standing, full length shot, sitting crop the thing.

Charlene in Detroit. You are in the know, indeed. Kevin painted faces like canvases.

I love the side shot pic of her looking up at the speaker Her eyes are the prettiest The dress highlights Mrs. O's style. Classic and Modern.

@ Strong Foru
Mrs. O has a great stylist and her hair is most definitely not a wig. Her hair is healthy and flawless for public events, but you can tell it is her real hair. In my personal opinion, I cannot imagine Mrs. O with a costly weave or extensions because she always comes across as so real and genuine.
