Holiday Lights!

Photos by Jewel Samad  / Getty Images

The First Lady and family, plus Kermit, attended the 2011 National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on the Ellipse near the White House last evening. On the style front, Mrs. O wore a tweed overcoat, paired with an orange geometric print Duro Olowu scarf and black trousers. A jeweled brooch sparkled at the collar.

Update: Mrs. O wears a wool and silk boucle coat by Duro Olowu from the designer's FW11 collection. And, our very own Charlene in Detroit has spotted Mrs. Robinson's coat: the Carr Ribbon Tweed Jacket by Tory Burch.

This would be a fun look without the scarf! The scarf looks messy. Love the pin - which can be seen better on other websites.

I LOVE the scarves!...And "Baby..." It HAS been cold outside."...lately. And our FLOTUS can wear this bright GOLD couleur scarf, such as in this picture...Perfect with the jacket...I'm loving it, just like all the other bright shades she pulls off "Fashionably Effortlessly" . And our POTUS...so diginified and joyful too in this picture. What a LOVELY Family!! And trinisamba...I love your title and note on " First Grandma". Never heard that phrase before. Love it. So ever proud of this First Family.

wow, FLOTUS looks great here. i love the fall colors on her. this coat looks a lot like one sold at Anthropologie, but i'm not sure if it's the same coat. i'm gonna label Sasha best dressed because i just loved her entire look. and First Grandma looks fashionable too. Malia's coat has an interesting look. her overall look was very military chic, although you can't see her well in this pic. i wonder where her coat is from. i guess after this, it's off to Hawaii for some sun and fun. :-)

The first family looks so beautiful! I, too, love the boots First Grandma is wearing! All the colors are so vibrant and to me reflect this holiday season for so many. The scarf is so pretty and picks up the color in her coat--I can't wait to try out this style selection with my coat and black outfits! The outfits evoke the Holiday and all of its beauty in a non-traditional palette, but inclusive of the beauty of this season for everyone celebrating.

I think Sasha's coat is wonderful, and I wish I could see Malia here. How were the rest of you able to see "First Grandma's" boots? Love our President's burgundy scarf. Great color for him!

watched the live footage of this and Mrs. Obama was so darling with Kermit! I love this family...they look so elegant in their long coats and Mrs. Robinson with the 'Chanel' looking jacket and those hot pink gloves! I love how Mrs. O's scarf picks up the bits of orange in the tweed coat....beautiful. Just elegant and festive...all of them!

Is that our First Granny wearing black over-the-knee-boots!?! WOW!
@trinisamba, that's all I saw too! That is one stylish lady. There's a couple of pics on the site that could easily be turned into a postcard. That is one beautiful family, inside and out.
Also, you can find Malia's coat on sale at ASOS! Both the girls have on really nice coats.

OH. MY. GOD. Did anybody just see Mrs. O at the WH reception for the Kennedy Center honorees? STUNNNG, STUNNING, STUNNING. Now this is what I call a GOWN. Mrs. T, we must find out the designer. A shocking burst of bright blue, strappless, pleats, ruffles, tucks - JUST GORGEOUS. There is no one who even comes close to this woman! Jewelry, smile - perfect. President Obama and Mrs. O are always the most handsome and most beautiful in the room. WOW!!
