Time and Time Again

Photo by Kevin Mazur/WireImage for Time Inc., 2009

Mrs. O has been named to the Time 100 for 2011. The first lady is heralded for the healthy eating revolution she's led with "Let's Move" in a piece penned by Jamie Oliver for the special issue. Many will recall that the First Lady was first named to the Time 100 in 2009 (seen above). Congratulations to Mrs. Obama!

Congratulations! Our children are better because of this call to action, and many of us have made positive changes in our lives. It is one thing to look good, but to feel fit and strong in mind and body is an incredible experience. Let's be fit AND fashionable! Let's Move!

She looks magnificent, statuesque. What a figure! Just-fabulous.

She certainly deserves this honor. When I first looked at the black dress I thought wow this is really a slimming look, then I realized the picture was 2 years old. I think Mrs Obama has put on some weight since then or this dress style does wonders for her body type.

Congrats, indeed, and, this is one of my favorite Mrs. O looks. Well worth seeing again.

Is that picture Photoshopped? It's not just the plexiglass lecturn which may be causing a funky profile but not to that extent . . . that is not Mrs. O's waist and rib cage . . .and not in proportion to her hips. If so, that's a shame because her body is fine the way it is.

Here's a cute pic of the dynamic duo on the White House flickr stream. There is another pic of Mrs. O that we have not seen.

@questioinrama - the gown Mrs. O is wearing has an outer corset so no, the photo is not photoshopped.

Kudos to Mrs. O for a very deserving recognition.

Mrs. O wore this Kors dress with a leather corset (on the outside!) by Peter Soronen. That is the major reason her waist is so much smaller here. If you look closely at the area just below her left upper arm, you will see a little pucker of the dress fabric that makes the whole corset issue kind of snap into focus.

I loved this outfit when she wore it - it's beautiful, ladylike, and very edgy with the corset added. Utterly unlike any first lady, anywhere. It always makes me smile.

And Meta, this dress was Malia's for the last night of the Convention in '08. So not only does Mrs. O do repeats but now we have hand me downs at the White House. So cool. So can we look for a growth spurt like Malia's over the next year. Stay tuned for summer vacation.

@BookWorm: read my post just above yours. It's a corset, worn on the outside of the dress. She's still the real deal underneath! Great look though!

What a stunning picture. It's one of the most beautiful of any woman I've seen in a long time. the symmetry is just perfection. And she's a beautiful woman in spirit and thought as well. It's the whole package of Michelle Obama that is so important for this country.
