A Brush with Style

As has become something of a tradition for Mrs Obama, the day after the Congressional spouse's lunch, the First Lady invited attendees to join her in volunteering at a community service project.

This year, the spouses in question were at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington; painting the base's Youth Center, which provides care for over 300 children of military families.  The project was designed by Student Teaching Artists from the Corcoran Gallery of Art's ArtReach Progam and the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities, who were also on hand to volunteer.

In what also may be becoming a tradition for Mrs Obama's volunteer work, a familiar pair of rich purple Converse were deployed!  I'm sure details of the T-shirt will emerge, as our faithful fashion sleuths work their magic.

Done in the tradition of the famous Mrs. T Triple Post! Great reporting, Posh!!

Mrs. O is a picture of good health. She exudes confidence within and without. I love that smokey lilac color.

Very cute top, simple look that's still cute. Very nice.

And Posh - I am SO happy that you are able to take care of the blog while Mrs. T is gone. You're doing great and I hope you can work something out whereby you can continue contributing every now and then!

Great job!

What a lovely natural look from Mrs O - it shows off her slim and fit physique and the lilac/cornflower blue tonings look great on her. Thanks also to Posh Tater for hosting this blog while Mrs T is away - what would I do without my lunchtime fix of Mrs O if you weren't here!!!

Y'all know I'm digging the puirple Converse, but I'm digging my girl Posh's posts even more. You're smart and witty and I like that you're keeping it real and letting fellow Mrs. Oer's help you find the designers. All hail Queen Posh! And I'm with Iva, maybe you and Mrs. T can work something out to let you continue to contribute to the blog in the future!! Love ya!!

BTW, Mrs. O is sooooo pretty in this pic to me.

Cute, work/volunteer outfit. I like the blouse, but what's going on right above where Mrs. O has crossed her arms? Is it ruching? a fabric pattern? a flower? what is it??

I am going to look for a similar outfit. It is so sporty, yet soft and feminine!! Yay!!

Here's a pic of Mrs. O, her hubby (our President), and Malia going to Sasha's school this morning.

I like this skirt better with the purple shirt than the white one she wore the first time.

SNAZZY!
Wow, our Michelle looks cute even while volunteering! She sure makes me rethink my old stand-by T-shirt and sweats when running errands or just going out in public. She inspires women to just pull themselves together and it actually does not have to be expensive.
