Hurricane Sandy

Hello Dear Readers, My apartment building has been under mandatory evacuation order since Monday due to the hurricane. We are safe and sound, just a bit inconvenienced. Unfortunately, I do not have my computer, which makes it difficult to blog. I appreciate your understanding and hope to resume blogging in time for the election. Thinking of all of those affected by the storm. xx Mrs. T

Update (11/5): Thank you all so much for the concern! I truly appreciate your comments. We were able to get back into our apartment tonight and I'll have the blog up and running by tomorrow evening.

Hi Mrs.T,
I have been following your blog from the very beginning and still do with great interest. It is indeed the only blog I follow regularly. It will be very interesting to see what Mrs Obama will wear for the inauguration ( hopefully!). I am definitely a big Obama fan. Best Wishes to you after Sandy! Looking forward to your posts, Ana-Maria from Romania.

Oh what fun it will be for me, when this blog gets updates from Mrs. T. It wouldn't feel right, though; not one bit, 'til it's fun for Mrs. T. I look forward to it. Please tell us anything you need, the only thing from you I'll plead.

Thank you Groovy for thinking about me (this site is blocked at work). I live ten minutes from the beaches. My town has a beach which was hit hard.
Some of my neighbors didn't fare as well as trees fell with one hitting a home. The only property damage that I suffered was some shingles blew off the roof. The boardwalks were floating in the street. Some of the towns that were hit hard were: Asbury Park, Belmar, Sea Bright, etc which were completely destroyed (their boardwalks). Beach erosion is a major concern along with the demise of some of the jetties. My poor border collies was a nervous wreck and hid under the bed for at least three hours until he had to go outside. The winds sent him scurrying as they pounded my home. Yesterday, Nov.7th, we suffered a nor'easter which gave us a gift of twelve inches of snow. I didn't have power for five days, but there are a lot still without. Some had power restored, but lost it again in the nor'easter. My train line is down and my office building in New York City (NYC) just opened this past Monday as it sits about five minutes from the Hudson River. NYC suffered a lot also as the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) is surrounded by water! First and foremost, we are Jersey strong. All of us will pitch in to rebuild the homes of our neighbors, friends and this great state. Please keep us in your prayers!

All:
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. We are doing okay. The roofer has repaired my shingles (which I thought had blown off another house). My trains are still not running so I had to take the bus. What a nightmare that is. I'd rather have needles stuck through my eyes without the benefit of anesthesia. I had to wait over an hour at 42nd St for a bus home yesterday (Nov. 9th). On top of that, my friend that commutes with me couldn't find his car (I wanted to wring his neck) once we arrived near home. We walked up and down the parking lot while he kept saying that the car was in Lot 8, and he remembered a three. When we finally found the car, it was in Lot 8, but aisle E. I was suppose to go out to dinner with hubby but was too tired. I am not a drinker but I sure could have used a bottle last night, lol! The subways are running but the one that I was riding last night had delays, Murphy's Law. The snow is about gone as the weather has warmed up. Trees and wires are still down. Red lights that were working suddenly has lost power. It is still a mess here. I dread going to work on Monday to repeat the above scenario again, but I love NYC and will conquer the commute without the train. Please continue to pray for us.
Nyon: Thank you little sis for the concern! How are you?
