Happy Weekend

Well, apparently this little number is indeed flying off the racks. A salesperson at H&M in Soho informed me that people have been buying the "Michelle Obama dress" non-stop since yesterday afternoon. I managed to grab the last dress at the location on Broadway just below Spring. It is a size 6, and is destined for one of you, dear readers. A little Valentine from me to you!

Please leave a comment on this post by Monday, February 14, 9PM EST if you would like a chance to win the dress. I will then select the lucky recipient using random.org and mail it to you. xo

Update: Random.org has turned up comment #55, reader Yvonne. Hooray! Thank you all for the comments and excitement.

Lovely dress and my size! Yet another Mrs. O success story... While in Talbots the other day, I heard a Salesperson mention that a particular cardigan was worn by Mrs O. Several women nearby said they could care less if she wore the sweater. I grabbed the sweater knowing it would be beautiful, stylish, classic and comfortable. When I showed the Salesperson how great it looked, it was even more satisfying seeing those same women look at me green with envy!

I am addicted to this website, and love watching our amazing First Lady. The post about this dress is one of my favorites because she is wearing a dress almost anyone can afford, and looks great in it.

I always check your website because you like Mrs.O like me. This dress is very big issue for American woman. I hope she could show many things like this. Thanks for letting me see her through your website. This dress will be the legend of her.

I had a "Michelle Obama moment" last night! My aunt, Sheila Holder is running for Prime Minister of Guyana. She fell ill and asked me at the last minute to deliver her speech at a campaign event in New York! I found the courage to speak thanks to Mrs. Obama's amazing example. I threw on my best black dress (sleeveless Jones New York), pearl earrings, and Manolo Blahniks and gave it my best shot. Oh -- and I would love to own that H&M dress -- so effortlessly chic :)

I love so many of Mrs. O's outfits so this one is no different. I absolutely adore it. Unfortunately I am definitely no where near a size 6. My best friend IS however and she has been going through some tough times and I have been trying to cheer her up. If this dress were to come my way it would most certainly be hers. She loves clothes and she loves Mrs. O as well.
Good luck to all of us and Happy, Happy Valentines' day!! May love be in your life now and forever.

It's lovely to see Mrs. O wearing things the everywoman can afford. With my unemployment and law school loans, I cannot afford to buy pretty things for myself! :) Thank you for the opportunity.

I couldn't fit into a 6 - but I am wondering why the dress has short sleeves, but the one that Michelle is wearing has 3/4 length sleeves?

Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 5:02 PM | Unregistered CommenterBeth

I'm no size 6, but I would love to win that dress. If I am so lucky, I would give it to my daughter or my niece, or just keep it as an heirloom (Obama family heirloom). Even if I don't win, I'd like to say thank you, Mrs. T,for the wonderful gestures, and thanks to First Lady Obama--a woman with grace, style, class, and intelligence who together with her husband (President Obama) is doing outstanding things for this country.
